monolithic mountain guru, Dec 2013

With 'Honoring the Dark' mid-session, reflections arose on my morning run earlier this week.

Of the six runners who joined the morning run series so far, each one expressed doubt in their abilities or concern they would slow the group down prior to their first run. Nearly all had never run in the dark; a couple had never run in the forest before. Each participant offered her or himself to the forest, requiring a great degree of vulnerability, and as a direct result of that risk we experienced collective growth and joy.

I look forward to welcoming the current group back to the damp dark to finish up the series this month--and perhaps adding a few more movers to the bevvy.
